Ryan Martin is in his seventh year at ODU and his second as the Director of Sports Performance.
Martin is responsible for directing the Sports Performance department. He also oversees all the daily facets of sports performance within the Old Dominion football program.
Prior to coming to the Monarch staff, Martin served as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for 18 Division I sports at Hofstra University. He directly oversaw all the daily facets of training for football, men's/women's lacrosse and field hockey. While with the Pride, Martin helped develop two NFL draft picks (Willie Colon - Fourth Round; Marques Colston - Seventh Round), along with nine free-agent signings.
From 2001-2004, Martin was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for 21 sports at the Southern Conference's Davidson College.
Martin spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and the University of Notre Dame as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2001.
While pursuing his master's degree at Indiana State, Martin worked as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Sycamores.
Martin received a Bachelor of Arts in physical education from Anderson University in 1998 and earned a Master of Science in exercise science/biomechanics from Indiana State in 2000.
