NORFOLK, Va. - All of Old Dominion University's intercollegiate programs scored well above the NCAA multi-rate Academic Progress Rate (APR) minimum required score of 900 and will be eligible for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) post season play for the 2013-14 academic year.  The NCAA national office announced today the 2011-12 NCAA Division I APR data which determines if sports programs will experience postseason ineligibility and/or any other additional penalties.  This report is required for all Division I institutions as part of the annual NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program (APP). The latest APR data compiled the eligibility and retention rates for the 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years.

Led by the women's golf team's perfect score of 1000 which was recognized last week by the NCAA, three additional teams earned scores of 990 or higher, including field hockey (997), women's soccer (995), and women's lacrosse (992). The NCAA member colleges and universities adopted a comprehensive academic reform package designed to improve the academic success and graduation of all student-athletes. The centerpiece of the package is the academic measurement for teams, known as the APR.

"I am extremely proud of the academic progress of all of our athletic teams and the culture of academic excellence that has been created and expected from our athletic support staff and head coaches," says Old Dominion University Director of Athletics Dr. Wood Selig.

In addition to the team APR data, the NCAA also released each head coach's APR portfolio.  This portfolio details the APR score for each academic year of the head coach's career.  It is then made available for prospects, parents/guardians and counselors to review and ask questions regarding the academic success of teams under the supervision of a particular head coach, whether it the head coach was employed at one or a multiple of NCAA institutions.
