NORFOLK - The Old Dominion University women's golf team has been recognized for the second consecutive year by the NCAA for earning a perfect score of 1000 in the latest NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate announced today. The latest APR data compiled the eligibility and retention rates for the 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years.

The women's golf team also earned the highest overall GPA (Grade Point Average) for the 2012-13 academic year among ODU's 18 athletic teams with a 3.29 average, followed closely by women's lacrosse with a 3.28 and women's soccer with a 3.23 GPA.
Of the 431 student athletes in ODU's athletic program, 134 earned Dean's List honors for the 2013 spring semester with a 3.4 GPA or higher, with 28 earning perfect 4.0's. Fifty-five percent (238) of all the student athletes earned a 3.0 or higher GPA, while 12 teams earned GPA's of a 3.0 or higher, led by women's golf (3.51), women's soccer (3.22), women's lacrosse (3.19), women's rowing (3.18), women's tennis (3.12), women's sailing (3.08), men's tennis (3.07), women's swimming and men's soccer (3.06), men's sailing (3.02), and field hockey and wrestling (3.0).
