CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Old Dominion University quarterback Taylor Heinicke and cornerback Eriq Lewis were honored by College Football Performance Awards for their performances on Saturday at East Carolina, the CFPA announced on Tuesday.

In the Monarchs’ first ever game against an FBS opponent, Heinicke completed 38-of-51 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns.  The junior quarterback also rushed for a team-high 52 yards and a seven-yard touchdown run.

Lewis recorded the first sack of his career on the last play of the first quarter and then combined on a sack with Dominique Guinn-Bailey in the second half.  The junior had five tackles and a career-best 3.5 tackles for loss on the day.

ODU is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 7 when they take on Maryland at 4 p.m.  The contest will be nationally televised on ESPN NEWS.
