Get your Pink on for the 12th annual Hoops for the Cure game when the Lady Monarchs host C-USA foe UTEP on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
The annual event celebrates breast cancer survivors and their families and the fight to find a cure for breast cancer. The gates will open at 6 p.m. , with a Women's Health Fair in the lobby, and is highlighted by the pre-game Survivor Walk on the arena floor.Please plan to arrive early for the survivor walk which will begin at 6:45 p.m. Additionally, the first 1,000 fans will receive a pink t-shirt, compliments of Bon Secours In Motion Physical Therapy and Sports Performance.
This year's contest will mark the one year anniversary of the death of Sara Jones, a volunteer assistant to ODU head coach Karen Barefoot, who battled the disease for over 10 years.
Breast Cancer survivors are encouraged to call the Tidewater affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure office at 490-7794 to receive their free game ticket.
