LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team travels west to face the Liberty Flames this Sunday, March 9 at 1 p.m. from the Liberty Lacrosse Field.
ODU (1-4) played Richmond last Wednesday and gave good effort before losing 9-5 at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. Junior midfielder Ashmore Standing scored twice to lead ODU, while Christina Rea, Mary McCaleb and Jessica Liberty also contributed on the scoring department with a goal each.
Liberty leads Old Dominion with 14 points and seven assists. Senior attacker and co-captain Emily Austerberry leads ODU with 23 shots, nine draw controls and is tied for first with seven goals. Junior goalie Karen Hayde leads the Lady Monarchs with 13 ground balls.

Liberty Players to Watch: Junior attacker Sam Struss has 16 goals on 25 shots so far this season. That's good for a a .640 shot percentage with leads her team. Senior midfielder Nina Dunay has caused 11 turnovers and is second on the team with 14 ground balls. Redshirt junior attacker Morgan Becker leads the team with 19 draw controls. Senior goaltender Kristen Masullo is 1-5 this season with a 16.92 goals against average with 51 saves (.389 sv. percentage).
Scouting the Flames: Liberty comes in with a 1-5 record. The Flames have lost their last two by a total score of 37-18, losing 16-8 to George Mason in their previous game. Struss and Becker combined for four of the team's eight goals in that game. They play in the Big South conference.
