Anders has cemented her status as one of the greatest in field hockey in all facets of the game. As a player, she has participated at every level possible, including World Cup and Olympic events and as a coach.
Her coaching achievements are nothing short of impressive, including nine NCAA national championships, a bronze medal at the Pan American World Cup games, and the distinction of being the winningest Division I Field hockey coach in the country. Considered by many to be a pioneer of her sport, her resume is dotted with a long list of incredible achievements and monumental firsts.

for this year's CAA tournament? |

| Charles (Suffolk): Beth,
Congratulations on the win over
Penn State. In the international
game,how do you substitute,and
do the players have sub cards for
each? |
| Beth Anders: Thank you for the note.
Yes, the players have sub
cards. It is the same as the
college game as the players
come in from the sidelines. |

| Rachel (Va. Beach): Best of luck this year Beth.
We need more mentors like you
working with our youth. |

| Karen (Williamsburg, VA): What is your most memorable
moment in Coaching and as
an athlete? |
| Beth Anders: In coaching, everyday at practice. As a player, the 1984
olympics in LA when our team
got the bronze medal. |

How do you think your squad is
progressing.? Best of luck this

| Beth Anders: We hit a speed bump on
Sunday but we have a week
to prepare for this upcoming weekend. |

| Karla (Virginia Beach): Is there any talk about having
more than two officials in
a match? |
| Beth Anders: No,
Not to my knowledge. |

| Marcy (Norfolk): How did you get started in
coaching? What other field, other
than coaching would you like to do? |
| Beth Anders: Probably if I were going through school today, I would
major in engineering, because
it deals with problem solving.
I got started coaching young.
It's like teaching. I went to school and just enjoyed the
coaching aspect which is
teaching and problem solving. |

sport. Have you written any books or periodicals or can tell me some
names of ones I
could read? |
| Beth Anders: "Steps to success field hockey"
which is published by Human
Kenetics. You can find at
bookstores as well as Amozon.
com. Barbara Longstreth has
a few books as well. Champions
production has also done
a video tape. |

| Beth Anders: Fundamentals and communication. |

| Bill (Norfolk): Who will host the CAA Tournament
this year? |
| Beth Anders: The regular season winner
will host the CAA tournament. |
|
| Patrice (Virginia Beach): When is your scholarship match
game? |
| Beth Anders: This year's scholarship game
will be Oct. 29 against
North Carolina. |

| Margaret (Suffolk, VA.): Besides the Northeast,mid atlantic
areas, what other areas in the
country is the sport growing?

Texas are areas where the
sport is growing. |

| Larry (Portsmouth): When was the offsides rule changed
in college. Is it the same for
internation games? |
| Beth Anders: It has been about ten-plus
years. The rule is the same
for international games. |

| Tabitha: I know you can only score from
inside the circle, but wasn't there
a couple of years in the '90s where
you could score beyond the circle? |
| Beth Anders: Yes, You use to be able to
score anywhere then, just below the 50. |

| Chelsea (Richmond): Beth,
You mentioned that you may have
another Rhodes SCholar candidate.
What is Samantha Salvia doing now? |
| Beth Anders: Mary Cate Gordon is our candidate
this year.
Samantha, our 1995 Rhodes
Scholar winner is living
in the Oakland, CA area working in her major of engineering for the Oakland
County area. She just got married. |

| Kasey (Va. Beach): What determines what kinda of penalty corner you use? Sometimes I notice the striker hitting it and other times the stopper flips it to someone on the outside. |
| Beth Anders: There are all set plays because of a foul.
I decide which play we use. |
