NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University finished the Fall season tied for 31st in the latest Learfield Sports Director's Cup standings thanks to the strong seasons from football, field hockey and men's Soccer. ODU is tied for 31st with Iowa State of the Big 12. ODU's quarterfinal finish in football garnered 70 points, its quarterfinal finish in field hockey garnered 60 points and its NCAA men's soccer appearance tallied 25 points for 155 total points. The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA TODAY. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports - 10 women's and 10 men's. Scoring is based on the NCAA Tournament field with 100 points to the national champion, 90 for second, 83 for third and fourth place Finishes. For non-bracket sports the scoring varies, but the winners get 100 points, second 90, 3rd 85 and fourth gets 80 points.
