NORFOLK, VA-- Following Monarch and Lady Monarch teams is now just a click away as Old Dominion University athletic director Dr. Wood Selig announced today that over 100 home athletic events will be streamed live via Monarch Media.
"One aspect of our new intercollegiate athletic strategic plan is to utilize innovative technology and strategies to promote ODU athletics," says Selig. "Producing all home intercollegiate athletic events for Monarch Media allows us to work toward that objective while benefitting displaced ODU fans, family and friends of our current student athletes, and prospective student-athletes who might be considering ODU as a destination to further their athletic career. What a wonderful opportunity for the continual exposure of our intercollegiate athletic programs."
Fans can purchase monthly packages at www.odusports.com. Broadcasts for all sports have been enhanced with the addition of HD cameras. Monarch football games and men's and women's home basketball games, have been carried on the web for several years, and include the live audio feed from ESPN 94.1 FM. In addition, ODU will feature all home games for Olympic sports, plus a "Game of the Week" where Director of Broadcasting Ted Alexander will provide play-by-play and a former student athlete of that particular sport will be the analyst. The first Game of the Week event will be the Sept. 4 women's soccer match against Arizona State at 1 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex.
In addition to live game coverage, a subscription to Monarch Media provides access to exclusive interviews, post -game interviews, and special features, and all games will be archived for later viewing.
