LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Old Dominion University coed sailing team placed sixth at the 28th annual Rose Bowl Regatta out of 30 teams at U.S. Sailing Center over the weekend.

ODU finished in sixth with 117 points behind only College of Charleston (84), Boston College (107), Georgetown (111), Fordham (115) and Rose Bowl Regatta champions Stanford who won the event with a score of 67 in the 30-team field.

The Monarchs A-Division tandem of senior skipper and team captain Dillon Paiva along with junior crew and California native Alexa Cavalieri finished eighth with a score of 86.

Freshman skipper Esteban Forrer continued his stellar rookie campaign, as alongside junior crew Julia Wiesner, the duo took second in the B-Division race with a score of 31.

Old Dominion opens their spring season on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Charleston Spring Invitational and by hosting the ODU Quad.
