NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 12 Old Dominion University coed sailing team place ninth in the St. Mary’s Team Race over the weekend while the No. 15 Old Dominion University women’s team took 14th at the Navy Spring Women’s Regatta.

The Monarchs were again competing in a loaded field this weekend with just 10 teams, all of which were ranked nationally, at the St. Mary’s Team Race. ODU went just 2-7 and finished in ninth place behind senior skippers Dillon Paiva, Zachary Runci and freshman skipper Esteban Forrer. Crew members included juniors Chloe Constants, Jill Fattibene and Julia Wiesner along with freshmen Joseph David and Cooper Paiva.

The Lady Monarchs took 14th out of 20 teams at the Navy Spring Women’s Regatta with 271 points. Junior skipper Corina Radtke and senior crew Shannon Wilkins took 14th in the A-Division race with 136 points while sophomore skipper Andrea Luna and junior crew Alexa Cavalieri took 13th in the B-Division race with 135 points. No. 6 Stanford won the event, going 12-2.

ODU is back in Maryland again next week for the St. Mary’s Women’s Regatta and the prestigious Truxtun Umsted Team Race in Annapolis. Closer to home, ODU will also compete in the CNU Women’s Race and Pirate Team Race in Hampton.
