Lady Monarch Sailing Finishes Third/Coed Squad 14th

The Old Dominion women's sailing team finished third with 159 points on this weekend at the Dellenbaugh Women's Intersectional hosted by Brown University. The Old Dominion coed squad competed in the Admiral's Cup at the US Merchant Marine Academy where they recorded a 14th place showing. Corrie Clement (Metarie, LA), Amy Bourne (Va. Beach, VA) and Liz Bower (Fairport, NY) led the Lady Monarchs as they finished fourth in the A division with 159 points. Anna Tunnicliffe (Perrysburg, OH) and Anna Cobb (Mechanisville, VA) came in fifth place in the B division with 87 points. St. Mary's, who ranked first over ODU in the latest national rankings, won the regatta with just 74 total points. Brown tallied 133 points in a distant second place. At the Marine Academy the Monarchs totaled 582 points in 14th place. Bill Berg (Longwood, FL) paced the team with 185 points, which was 10th in the C division. Ignacio Saralegui and Vincent Fontimayor came in 12th in the B division while Jack Kerr and Debbie Capozzi finished 13th in the A division with 212 points. Tufts University came from behind on Sunday to earn the win with 331 points. Harvard and Hobart/WM Smith rounded out the top three with 354 and 383 points respectively.
