Monarchs Finish 7th at Robert P. Arrigan Memorial Regatta

WASHINGTON, DC -- Shifty winds and heavy rain made sailing difficult at Georgetown's Robert P. Arrigan Memorial Regatta this weekend. The Monarchs managed their best finish of the weekend, despite the shortened event, finishing seventh after eight races. ODU's B division boat finished in fifth overall with 35 total points after eight races. The weekend included one win anf six top five finishes for the B division boat. In A division racing, the Monarchs finished seventh with 66 points. The A division boat finished as high as sixth in three heats. Final Results: Robert P. Arrigan Memorial Regatta
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: Saturday - 6 A and 6B completed. First set was run in the Potomac River. Low Tide and an abundance of ferries led the race committee to run the rest of the races in the Lagoon. Wind started from the NW for the first set and then the SW at 8-10MPH for the last four races. Sunday - Heavy Rain in the morning coupled with some shifty winds going from NE to NW. Two races were sailed in each division before the race committee decided to call it a day. No protests filed. One breakdown. A division = 8 Races B division = 8 Races
