ODU Sailing Finishes Sixth at the MAISA Dinghy Championships

At the America's Cup Trophy, hosted by St. Mary's College in Maryland, 16 teams competed for the MAISA Dinghy Championship and the right to move on the ICSA Championships in June. The Old Dominion sailing team finished sixth with 128 points, failing to qualify for the Dinghy North American Championship. St. Marys, Kings Points (USMMA) and Hobart/Wm Smith each earned berths to the Championship. The Monarchs finished only 10 points behind Hobart, who came in third. Seniors Corrie Clement and Liz Bower led the team with a fourth place showing in the B division with 60 points. Jack Kerr and Debbie Capozzi came in seventh in the B division with 68 points. St. Mary's finished well ahead with just 36 points while King's Point, 114 points, and Hobart, 118 points, rounded out the top three.
