CRANSRON, R.I. - The sixth-ranked Old Dominion women's sailing team finished with a solid sixth-place finish at the 23rd Women's Atlantic Coast Championships, hosted this past weekend by Brown at the Edgewood Yacht Club on Narragansett Bay.

The Lady Monarchs battled a tough field that featured nearly every top-ranked team in the country.

There were six races held on Saturday in north-northeast winds ranging from four to 10 knots. It rained most of the day and the current played a significant role in the racing. On Sunday, the wind died in the afternoon leading to only two races going into the record books for each division.

Stephanie Roble and Ashley Pellerito performed well in the A Division, garnering a fourth-place finish. The duo finished extremely strong, claiming top-five results in four of the final five races. ODU only trailed Georgetown, Eckerd College and top-ranked Yale in the A Division.

Katrina Williams and Shannon Wilkins took home ninth in the B Division, posting a pair of top-five finishes.

Old Dominion also competed at the co-ed ACC's this past weekend, finishing 16th. Alan Alkins and Morgan Wilson posted three top-10 finishes, while Zack Kelchner and Dillon Paiva claimed no worse than 10th in their first three races of the competition.
