NORFOLK, VA. - Old Dominion University senior sailor Debbie Capozzi (Bayport, NY.) former two-time All-American Sally Barkow (ODU'02) teammed with Carrie Howe of Boston College to win the Olympic Class Regatta in a three-person women's keel boat, the Yngling. The team is currently ranked second on the U.S. Sailing squad.

Mike Martin, the 1988 Singlehanded National Champion and member of the ODU Sports Hall of Fame is a finalist for Yachtsman of the Year. Martin was a three-time All-American sailor at ODU.

The women's trio of Barkow,Capozzi and Howe won the Rolex Miami Olympic Classes regatta. Barkow, who skippered the Lady Monarchs to last spring's Women's Collegiate Sailing National Championship and placed third in the Women's Singlehanded National Championships in the fall of 2001 is a finalist for the U.S. Sailing Association Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year.

Capozzi helped lead the Lady Monarchs to the Women's Atlantic Coast Championships and the Stu Nelson trophy in the fall. She also finished eighth in the MAISA Women's Singlehanded championships. For more information on the USSA click on www.usailing.org.
