BRONX, NY - The no. 15 Old Dominion Lady Monarch Sailing team braved today's rainy conditions to finish in fifth place after the first day of racing in the MAISA Women's Championship's, hosted by the New York Maritime College.

The B division sailors lead ODU's charge with 32 points, A division finished with 47 points for a total of 79 on the day. No. 5 Georgetown is currently in first place with 48 points.

Today's winds were a light easterly 5-12 mph breeze in the wet conditions. Tomorrow's racing conditions do not look to be very promising as 20 mph easterly winds are predicted with heavy rain.
