KARATSU, JAPAN-- Former Old Dominion University Sailing standout and Olympic Gold Medalist Anna Tunnicliffe-Funk ('05)is currently in second place at the World Laser Women's Championships after 10 races.

Sari Multala of Finland leads the even with 22 points, followed by Tunnicliffe with 31. Through ten races, Tunnicliffe has three seconds and two thirds, while Multala has four first places. The final round of sailing is Sunday. A total of 44 competitors are in this world championship event.

Tunnicliffe captured the gold medal in last year's Olympic games for team USA in the Yngling class. The three-time Collegiate Sailing All-American and ICSA singlehanded National Champion was named the 2008 Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year.
