KING'S POINT, NY (Sept. 17, 2000) -- The Old Dominion University sailing team won the Nevins Trophy regatta this afternoon, finishing first out of 20 teams. The Monarchs edged out the College of Charleston, 331- 348 for the win.

The A division boat of Adam Burns (Youngstown, NY), Abigail Curran (Osterville, MA) and Brock Callen finished third, while the B boat of Justin Castagne (Maraval, Trinidad), Elisabeth Biondi (Norwalk, CT), and Callen finished 9th. Brad Funk (Harbor Bluffs, FL) finished in second place in the C division.

The Monarchs will take to the water again next week when they travel to the Hood Trophy regatta in Massachusetts and compete in three regattas in Annapolis, Maryland.
