Annapolis, MD (Oct. 1) - The Old Dominion University sailing team wrapped up another successful weekend on Oct. 1 with both the sloop team and Sally Barkow (Nashotah, WI) qualifying for the ICSA National Championships.

The Monarch sloop squad, consisting of Adam Burns (Youngstown, NY), Justin Castagne (Trinidad, West Indies), Brock Callen (Martha's Vineyard, MA) and Ted Anderson (Norwalk, CT), finished second behind Queens College at the MAISA District Championships and will advance to the National Championship in Bay, St. Louis MS.

In the MAISA Women's Singlehanded, Barkow was edged out by Ali Sharp of St. Mary's, but will advance to the National Championship competition in Seattle, WA. with a top-four finish. Also placing for the Monarchs were Debbie Capozzi (Bayport, NY), Jessica Simpson (Ontario, Canada), and Corrie Clement (Metarie, LA).
