SEATTLE, WA. (Nov. 6, 2000) -- Old Dominion University's Brad Funk (Harbor Bluffs, Fl.) finished eighth and Sally Barkow finished ninth at the ICSA Collegiate Sailing Singlehanded National Championships on Lake Washington.

Funk tallied 118 points just one point shy of sixth and two out of fifth. He had a first and two third places in his six races. Bruce Mahoney of Texas was the men's National Champion with 82 points. Barkow finished with 139 points. Margaret Gill of Harvard won the title with 81 points.

The Old Dominion Sloop squad (Adam Burns (Youngstown, NY., Justin Castagne (Trinidad, West Indies), Brock Calen (Martha's Vinyard, MA.) And Ted Anderson (Norwalk, CT.) will be competing in the Collegiate Sloop National Championships in St. Louis, MO., Nov. 17-19.
