NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University women's sailing team concludes action for ODU in the fall season this weekend when they head to New London, Conn. for the ACC Women's.
The ACC Dinghy championships scheduled this weekend in Kings Point, N.Y. was cancelled due to the severe damage inflicted by Hurricane Sandy to the area.
Last time out for ODU two weeks, the ODU tandem of senior skipper Dillon Paiva along with junior crew Chloe Constants and freshman Joe David placed third in the A-Division race with 100 points in the War Memorial. In the B-Division race with 128 points, Old Dominion took sixth behind freshman skipper Esteban Forrer and sophomore crew Julia Wiesner and freshman Cooper Paiva. ODU took fifth in the 18-team event.
At the Top 9 Invite, ODU took seventh out of the nine teams with 335 points as junior skipper Corina Radtke and junior crewAlexa Cavalieri took eighth with 170 points in the A-Division race while junior skipper Rachel Austin and freshman crew Grace Mason took seventh in the B-Division race with 165 points.
