During his senior season, Gero only issued nine walks the entire season and was selected to play in the FACA High School All-Star game after compiling a 10-1 record with a 0.68 ERA. In 2012, Gero made 27 appearances with a 7-0 record and a 3.39 ERA in 61.1 innings of work for Daytona State Community College where he was selected first team All-Mid Florida Conference. Daytona State finished third in the Mid Florida Conference in 2011 and 2012...
