Final Stats

COLLEGE PARK, MD-- Brandon Padula doubled home Alfredo Rodriguez in the eighth to break a 2-2 tie and lift the University of Maryland to a 3-2 victory over ODU (9-10)Tuesday evening.

Both ODU runs came on solo homers, by Jake McAloose (Virginia Beach, Va.) the fourth and Austin Wright (Virginia Beach, Va.) in the fifth.

Matthew Murakami hit a solo homer for Maryland in the fourth inning, and Rodriguez scored on an ODU error in the sixth.

McAloose and Kenny Stoneback(Colonial Heights, VA). led ODU with two hits each, while Brandon Padula led Maryland with two hits.

Senior righthander Chris Boggs (Front Royal, VA.) pitched seven plus innings with six strikeouts, four walks and just four hits took the loss.

ODU hosts Richmond Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at the Bud Metheny Baseball complex.
