Wilmington, NC. -- The Seahawks of UNC Wilmington lashed out a season high 24 hits and defeated the Monarchs, 14-2 in a CAA game Sunday. UNCW sweeps the series to run their record to 25-9 overall, and 8-1 in the CAA. ODU drops to 16-18 overall and 1-7 in the CAA.

Junior righthander Chris Coughlin collected the victory, giving up two runs and seven hits over six innings. Magnus Pilegard had four hits in five at bats, while Jamie Hemingway, Matt Wright, Russ Simmerman and Chip Grawey each had three hits on the day for the Seahawks.

ODU was led by Ryan Harvey with three hits and two runs batted in. Kevin Snapp and Jess Schoendienst each had two hits as well.

The Monarchs return to action on Tuesday night when they host Liberty at 7 p.m. at the Bud Metheny Complex.
