NORFOLK, VA-Brian Hernandez and Javier Socorro each knocked in two runs to lead the Blue Devils of Duke (20-18) to a 5-3 victory over Old Dominion University ( 14-23) Tuesday evening.

Dana Arrowood (Woodbridge, VA.)singled home Steven Harris (Va.Beach, VA.- Kellam HS) in the fifth. ODU added two more runs in the eighth as freshman catcher Tyler Belcher (Bristol, VA.) doubled home Brandon Carter (Sacramento, CA) and Justin Gregula (Washington, PA.).

Hernandez singled home Socorro in the first inning, then singled in Tim Layden in the fourth. In the sixth Layden scored on Bryan Smith's single. Socorro doubled home Adam Loftin and Kyle Silver.

The Monarchs out hit Duke, 12-9 as Steven Harris, Dana Arrowood, Justin Gregula and Brandon Carter each had two hits. Brian Hernandez led Duke with three hits. ODU travels to Richmond for a 3 p.m. game on Wednesday.
