BROOKLINE, MASS -- Northeastern (21-26/11-16)) hitters belted four homers and pitcher Kevin Ferguson held the Monarchs (18-32/8-19) to four hits as the Huskies defeated ODU, 14-1 in a CAA contest at Friedman Diamond. ODU freshman catcher Michael Perez(Fairfax Station, VA.) knocked in the Monarchs lone run.

Northeastern jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning highlighted by a Rob Fonseca grand slam homer. The Huskies scored twice in the second keyed by an RBI double by John Puttress. Jon Leroux slammed a three-run homer for Northeastern in a five-run fourth inning, then he hit a solo shot in the fifth. Oliver Hart also hit a solo homer in the sixth.

ODU got on the board in the fourth when freshman catcher Michael Perez doubled home senior Chris Baker who also reached on a double.

Perez, Chris Baker, Josh Tutwiler and Brandon Shelton each had a hit for the Monarchs.

ODU hosts Georgia State in the final CAA regular season series beginning Thursday night at 6 p.m. at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.
