NORFOLK, VA--The Seahawks of UNC Wilmington (28-20/10-7) defeated Old Dominion (21-25/12-11), 10-2 Friday night as three pitchers held the Monarchs to three hits.

Cody Stanley lead the Seahawks with three hits and four RBI for UNCW, including a double and his 11th homer of the year. Mike Rooney also had three hits for the Seahawks.

Cameron Roth pitchedsix innings allowing four hits and one run with four strikeouts. Tyler McSwain and Bryan Booth pitched the final three innings for UNCW.

UNCW got on the board first with back-to-back doubles by Monday and Hill. Hill later scored on a Burchill balk to make it 2-0 UNCW.

In the third Grayson Evans doubled home Ben Thielsen then scored on Cody Stanley's single. Holt doubled home Evans and later scored on sacrifice fly by Monday. Thielsen's groundout plated Mike Rooney in the fourth to give UNCW a 6-1 lead.

ODU got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third as Jake McAloose doubled and scored on a balk. ODU scored in the bottom of the eighth when Gerard Hall scored from third on a wild pitch.

McAloose had two of the Monarchs five hits which upped his batting average to .412. Gerard Hall doubled in the eighth extended his hitting streak to 16 games.

The final game of the series is Saturday at 2 p.m. ODU will honor its seniors, Brady Burchill, Max Most and Matt Walls prior to gametime.
