NORFOLK, VA. - The 22nd ranked Dukes of James Madison defeated Old Dominion, 5-0 behind shutout pitching headed by lefthander Dan Meyer Saturday evening in a CAA American Division contest. JMU is now 41-11 overall and 15-4 in the CAA, while ODU is 25-27 overall and 7-12 in the CAA.

Meyer held the Monarchs hitless until Ryan Harvey (Riverside, CA.) tripled with one out in the sixth inning. Eddie Kim, the CAA's leader in RBI's and hitting, had two hits, including a run scoring double which brought home Brent Metheny in the first inning. Nathan Doyle's groundout in the second plated Alan Lindsey.

In the fifth inning, Metheny's two-out single scored Doyle and Travis Ebaugh to give JMU a 4-0 lead. The Dukes added another run in the ninth on Kurt Isenberg's sacrifice fly, scoring Dustin Bowman.

ODU threatened in the eighth after Brandon Lenoir (Ocala, FL.) and Jared Musolf (Lakehurst, NJ.) singled with one out, but Mike Trussell came in for Brandon Cornwell and fanned the next two batters to get out of trouble. .
