WILMINGTON, NC-- Ronald Hill scattered seven hits and went the distance for his tenth win of the year as UNC Wilmington defeated ODU, 5-2 Friday night, ending the Monarchs 11-game winning streak. ODU is now 26-25 overall and 13-10 in the CAA, while UNCW is 32-20 overall, 16-6 in the CAA.

With the game tied at two, Steven Harris and Dana Arrowood scored when centerfielder Chip Grawey dropped Allen Strick's fly ball with two outs.

UNCW re-took the lead in the seventh as Tim Preston singled, then scored on a double by Matt Poulk. The Seahawks then added two more unearned runs in the eighth to make it 5-2.

Ronald Hill walked no one and fanned seven to run his record to 10-3. James Burok was ODU's loser in relief. Keith Hahn led the Monarchs with three hits in four at bats to up his batting average to .336.

The same two teams will play the third and final game of the CAA series on Saturday at 2 p.m. The CAA tournament begins next Wednesday here in Wilmington. The 11-game winning streak was the longest for ODU since the 2000 season when the Monarchs won 12 straight.
