WILMINGTON, NC-- Steven Caseres knocked in five runs and freshman pitcher Turner Phelps pitched a complete game five-hitter to lead the second seeded James Madison Dukes to a 6-1 victory over Old Dominion Wednesday in the CAA Tournament opener. ODU will play Towson at 12 noon Thursday. The Tigers lost to UNCW, 11-5 in their first round game.

Caseres doubled home a run in the third inning, and in the fifth with the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam homer with Alex Foltz, Joe Lake and Brett Sellers aboard. It was Caseres 21st homerun of the season.

Turner Phelps, a righthander scattered five hits with one walk and a career high ten strikeouts for JMU.

ODU's lone run came in the seventh when All-CAA selection David Burns led off The inning with his team best 12th homerun.

ODU threatened in the fourth with Max Most on third and Bryan Cipolla on first with two outs, but failed to score. In the fifth Jake McAloose was also on third and Gerard Hall on second, with one out, but were not able to score. Jimmy Miles led off the sixth with a double, but was left stranded on third.
