Norfolk, VA-- Old Dominion downed visiting Le Moyne College this afternoon, 4-2. The Monarchs improve to 2-10 while the Dolphins are now 0-1.

Monarch pitcher Parker Friske (Va. Beach, VA) was impressive on the mound, throwing a complete game and scattering seven hits to compliment eight strike-outs. His counterpart, Le Moyne's Jamie Steward, lasted six innings while giving up just one earned run.

Old Dominion got things started on the right note as shortstop Allen Strick (Glen Burnie, MD) led off the bottom of the first with a home run to put the Monarchs ahead 1-0. Old Dominion would carry a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the eighth, and freshman Matt Moye (Beaver Falls, PA) added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in the final run of the game.

Second baseman Ross Robertson (Chesapeake, VA) led Old Dominion, going 2-4 with an RBI.

Le Moyne and Old Dominion will play again at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Bud Metheny baseball complex.
