    NORFOLK, Va.-- Junior thirdbaseman Jeff Eure (Pillow, Pa.) hit back-to-back two run home runs as Old Dominion defeated tenth ranked Clemson Wednesday night at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex. The Monarchs are now 9-15, while Clemson is 15-6 and saw its five-game win streak come to an end.

    With Clemson leading 3-0 in the second, Eure belted his first of the night over the leftcetern field fence with Mark Michael (Gibbstown, NJ.) aboard.

    Clemson took a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the third, but Eure then tied the game at five with another two-run shot, scoring John Oehler (Audubon, NJ.). The Monarchs exploded for six runs that inning. Matt Moye (Beaver Falls, Pa. ) tripled, then scored the lead run on a double by Ryan Dunn (Bristol, Va.). Joe Moore (Woodbridge, Va.) singled home Dunn. Ross Robertson (Chesapeake, Va.) also scored on a wild pitch.

    Jonathan Tinkham (Chesapeake, Va.) picked up the win in relief and sophomore Kevin Evans (Shamong, NJ.) picked up his second save of the year. Evans fanned three in two innings of work.

    Clemson was led by Casey Stone with three hits and a run batted in. Jarrod Schmidt and Seth Miller each knocked in two runs each. Khalil Greene hit a solo homer in the fourth for Clemson.

    Old Dominion outhit the Tigers, 13-10 as five Monarchs had two hits each. Old Dominion travels to Fairfax, Va. for a three-game CAA series with George Mason, beginning Friday at 2:30 p.m.
