NORFOLK, Va. -- Mark Johnson knocked in two runs with a double and Brett Hincliffe and Oscar Henriquez pitched hitless ball as the Norfolk Tides, the New York Mets AAA affiliate defeated the Monarchs, 5-0 in the annual Metrocall Scholarship Baseball Classic.

Tides pitchers were used for both teams.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Old Dominion University Intercollegiate Foundation for baseball scholarships. The Monarchs host crosstown rival Norfolk State Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
