Old Dominion has four former student athletes playing professional baseball.

Justin Verlander ('04) is currently 3-1 for the Lakeland Tigers. He has a 1.17 earned run average with 30 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched and only five walks.

Tim Hummel ('00) is hitting .278 for the Pawtucket Red Sox with nine runs batted in and one homer. He is playing thirdbase for Boston's AAA team.

Brandon Carter ('04) is hitting .184 for the LA Dodgers Columbus squad. He has two doubles and four runs batted in, and is playing second base.

Jeff Eure('01) is hitting .275 with six homers and 16 runs batted in for Milwaukee's Brevard County team.

Wayne Gomes('93) was playing for Yucatan in the Mexican League. He was 1-0, but has since returned to the Hampton Roads area.
