NORFOLK, VA. - Old Dominion University freshman pitcher Justin Verlander (Goochland, VA.) ranks 11th nationally in the latest NCAA Baseball statistics with an earned run average of 1.76.

The 6-4 righthander is 6-5 and leads the CAA in earned run average, and batters struckout looking (44). Verlander is second in the league in strikeouts with 110, one behind William and Mary's Whitt Farr, innings pitched at 97.2, and games started with 13.

ODU catcher John Oehler (Audubon, NJ.) leads the league in sacrifice bunts with ten and senior reliever Jonathan Tinkham (Chesapeake, Va.) is second in the league in appearances with 24 and third in saves with five.

The Monarchs return from their exam break with a three-game CAA series at Towson, beginning Friday, May 10 at 3 p.m.
