NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Baseball Monarchs will open the 2008 CAA Baseball Championships Wednesday at 12 noon against James Madison at Brooks Field in Wilmington, NC.

ODU (25-25/14-14) is the fifth seed and JMU is the second seed (34-17/20-9). ODU and JMU met back on March 21-23 with ODU winning two of the three games.

The pairings are set for the 2008 CAA Baseball Championship, which will be held May 21-24 at Brooks Field in Wilmington, N.C.

The action begins at Noon on Wednesday as #2 seed James Madison (34-17, 20-9 in CAA) takes on #5 Old Dominion (25-25, 14-14 in CAA). At 3:30 p.m., #3 George Mason (28-23, 18-10 in CAA) faces #4 William & Mary (35-19, 16-13 in CAA). Capping the tournament's opening day will be #1 UNC Wilmington (41-13-1, 25-4-1 in CAA) against #6 Towson (28-26, 14-16) at 7 p.m.

Games will be played at Noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday with the championship game set for 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Tournament passes are $30 for adults and $12 for youths (6-12), while single-day passes are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Students from participating institutions will be admitted at no charge with a valid student ID card. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 1-800-808-UNCW.
