DURHAM, NC-- Old Dominion University sophomore pitcher Justin Verlander (Goochland, VA.) has been selected to the 20-man team USA squad. He becomes the sixth Monarch in school history to do so. Team USA begins play on July 2.

Verlander posted a 7-6 record with a 2.40 earned run average. He fanned 139 batters in just 116.1 innings, a new ODU single season record. Verlander earned first team All- CAA honors, and fanned ten or more batters six times. He joins fellow CAA pitcher Justin Orendorf of VCU on the squad.
