NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University junior third baseman Jake McAloose (Virginia Beach, Va.) has been named first team All-State as selected by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VASID).

McAloose led ODU with a .413 batting average which ranked third in the CAA along with six homers and 44 RBI. He led the team in base hits with 76, triples with two and runs scored with 48. Virginia head coach Brian O'Connor was named VaSID Coach of the Year after earning NCBWA National Coach of the Year and leading the Cavaliers to their first College World Series appearance, joining JMU (1983) as the only Virginia schools to reach the CWS.
