CHARLOTTE, NC-- Former ODU pitching standout Dan Hudson (Virginia Beach, Va. '08) scattered three hits and combined with two relievers for a 3-1 Charlotte Knights victory over the Norfolk Tides and his first AAA win. Charlotte is the Chicago White Sox affiliate.

The former two-time All-CAA selection pitched seven innings allowing an unearned run on just three hits with six strikeouts and two walks. He had a no-decision in his AAA debut last Sunday.

Hudson started the season in single A Kannapolis, the moved to Winston-Salem before being promoted to AA Birmingham.

Prior to the call-up to AAA Charlotte, Hudson had won six straight games for Birmingham. He had compiled a 7-0 overall record with a 1.60 earned run average with 63 strikeouts in 56.1 innings of work.

Hudson was a two-time All-CAA selection for the Monarchs, earning first team honors in 2007 and second team in 2008. Dan and the Charlotte Knights play at the Norfolk Tides, Aug. 29-31.
