Recent ODU graduate Ben Tomchick helped the Burlington Royals win the Appalachian League (Rookie League) Division Title. Tomchick went 1-1 during the year with a 3.21 ERA in eight appearances out of the bullpen. Tomchick and the Royals will begin the postseason on Wednesday.

2011 ODU grad Kyle Hald is currently pitching for the Palm Beach Cardinals in the Florida State League (High A). Hald is 3-4 with a 3.64 ERA with 35 strikeouts in 42 innings with the Cardinals. He started the year in Quad City, going 4-5 with a 3.10 ERA.

For the year, Hald is 7-9 with a 3.27 ERA in 112 innings.
