WILLIAMSBURG, VA. -- William and Mary shot a blistering .549 from the floor as Adam Hess scored 23 and freshman Jack Jenkins added 17 to defeat the Monarchs, 69-53 in a CAA contest in William and Mary Hall.

The Tribe, winners of two straight are now 9-10 overall and 4-6 in the CAA, while ODU drops its second straight to fall to 9-10 overall and 6-5 in the CAA.

William and Mary jumped out to a 22-12 lead with 8:41 remaining in the first half as freshman forward Jenkins scored all 17 of his points before leaving with a leg injury. The Tribe shot .531 (17-32) from the floor in the first half, while ODU shot only .214 (6-28), including 3-15 from three-point range.

In the second half, ODU trailed by as much as 20, 44-24 with 16:07 left, but cut the Tribes lead to 12, 56-44 with 6:12 left.

Ricardo Marsh (Mebane, NC.)led ODU with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Rasheed Wright (Greensboro, NC.) added ten points. ODU shot .328 from the field and the Tribe outrebounded the Monarchs, 39-28.

The Monarchs return to action on Saturday night when they travel to James Madison for a 7 p.m. contest in Harrisonburg, VA.
