RICHMOND, VA.--Drexel University held off ODU's late rally to defeat the Monarchs, 61-52 in the CAA Quarterfinals. ODU was led by senior Rasheed Wright (Greensboro, NC.) with 16 points and seven rebounds in his final game as a Monarch.

After a basket by John Waller (Richmond, VA.) with 9:20 left in the first half, ODU led 16-11, but the Dragons would outscore the Monarchs 23-4 to take a 34-20 halftime lead.

ODU rallied in the second half and cut the Dragons lead to two, 40-38 with 9:13 remaining, but Tim Whitworth hit a trey to push to lead back to five at 43-38. ODU made one more run cutting the lead to three, 55-52 on a three-pointer by Kiah Thomas (Norfolk, VA.), but Phil Goss came right back and hit a trey for Drexel to end the threat.

The Monarchs finish the season at 12-15. Senior Ricardo Marsh (Mebane, NC.) finished with 1350 career points to rank him 20th all-time on ODU's list. Wright finished with 1185 career points which ranks him 28th all-time at ODU. Drexel (18-10) the third seed will meet VCU Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
