For ODU's Painter, many losses, but many more gains

By Ed Miller NORFOLK DeShawn Painter walked into an office at Old Dominion, past an end table with a college basketball preview magazine lying on top. The magazine had tabbed N.C. State as the No. 5 team in the country. It listed the Wolfpack's projected starters and "key reserves," which is where the 6-foot-9 Painter's name would have been had he stayed in Raleigh.
