Freshman center Alex Loughton (Perth, Australia) was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rookie of the week on Feb. 18th for the second time this season. Loughton averaged averaged 13 points and 7.5 rebounds in the Monarchs two wins last week.

The newcomer helped lead ODU to a 71-68 upset victory over first place UNC-Wilmington at home last Wednesday with 13 points and nine boards. On Saturday, Loughton had a team-high 13 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes in a 73-51 win at Towson. He shot 52.2 percent from the floor for the week as the Monarchs increased thier conference mark to 8-6, 11-11 overall.

Loughton earned the honor after the first week of the season on November 25th. Teammate Isaiah Hunter (Charlotte, NC) also won it back on January 27th.

ODU hosts Drexel Wednesday night in the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Game time is 7 p.m.
