MCGOWEN, SMITH AND DUNNINGTON TO TRANSFER (Men's Basketball)

NORFOLK, VA. - Old Dominion University men's basketball coach Blaine Taylor announced that 6-11 center Clay McGowen (Westerville, OH.),6-7 forward James Smith(Norfolk, VA). and 6-9 center Charles Dunnington Washington, DC.) have elected to transfer to other universities and will not return to Old Dominion in the fall.

"We are appreciative of their contributions to our program," said Taylor. " I wish them the best and hope things fall into place for all three young men."

McGowen, 6-11 stared 12 games and averaged 5.3 points and 5.2 rebounds. He scored a career high 15 points at East Carolina, blocked five shots against 12th ranked Memphis. Smith played in 17 games, averaging 0..7 points and 0.6 rebounds. Dunnington played in 24 games with 12 starts. He averaged2.9 points and 3.4 rebounds. He scored a career high ten points against George Mason.
