ODU's CDC Co-Sponsors Summer Camp for At-risk Youth

Old Dominion's Community Development Corporation (CDC), in partnership with the Life Enrichment Center of Norfolk, recently conducted a two-week camp offering educational, social and spiritual enrichment to selected at-risk youth from Norfolk. The Urban Youth Summer Academy, which concludes today, has provided the students with a rich academic environment that encourages learning and exploration, said Ann Grandy, executive director of the ODU CDC. The academy was open to teens and preteens referred by the guidance counselor at Jacox Elementary School, a Title 1 school in Norfolk. To continue reading, please click here.
