Monarchs Defeat Orvieto Club, 84-42

ORVIETO, ITALY--Four ODU players scored in double figures led by junior Donte Hlll's 19 points to lead the Monarchs to a 84-42 victory over Orvieto Club Team in game two of their European tour through Italy and Greece. The contest was played in the Outdoor Palace Signorelli court. Joining Hill in double figures were freshman Keenan Palmore with 14, red-shirt sophomore Jason Pimentel with 11 and senior DeShawn Painter with 10.  The Monarchs posed for a photo in the hotel stairwell before the game. ODU led by 10 at halftime, 37-27, then started the third quarter off with a 17-0 run thanks to four points each from Deon Clark, DeShawn Painter and Nick Wright. After that run, the Monarchs took a 54-27 lead and ended up holding Orvieto to just six points in the third quarter, and nine in the fourth. ODU dominated the boards, 64-26 led by Painter and Anton Larsen with 12 rebounds each. Jason Pimentel and freshman Ekene Anachebe each had eight recoveries. Hill was six-of 11 from the floor and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. He also came up with four steals on the night. Freshmen Aaron Bacote and Keenan Palmore both dished out three assists, while Larsen led with three blocked shots. ODU returns to action on Aug. 22 against Doukas in Athens, Greece and game four against Filathlitikos on Aug. 23rd also in Athens.
