ODU Announces Basketball TV and Radio Schedules

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University’s men’s and women’s basketball programs will be featured on local, regional and national television broadcasts in 18 games this season.
Highlighting the schedule are six nationally televised men’s games on the NBC Sports Network, seven Monarch games and three Lady Monarch games on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, a men’s contest on espn3.com and one men’s and women’s game aired locally and produced by Cox 11.
The NBC Sports Network will air six Monarch games including Dec. 7 vs. VCU, Dec. 22 vs. UVA, Jan. 10 at George Mason, Feb. 4 vs. George Mason, Feb. 11 at Delaware, and Feb. 28 vs. Drexel. The Monarchs game time with VCU on Dec. 7 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center has been moved to 9 p.m. to accommodate television schedules.
Nine ODU games will air on Comcast SportsNet, including the women’s contests with UNCW on Feb. 3 and at Drexel on Feb. 10. The Monarchs will be featured on CSN on Jan. 5 at noon vs. Delaware, Jan. 26 at JMU, Feb. 9 vs Northeastern at 4 p.m., Feb. 16 vs. William and Mary at noon, Feb. 24 at Hofstra at 7 p.m., and March 2 at Northeastern at noon. In addition, Comcast SportsNet will carry two games produced by Cox 11 in Hampton Roads, including the Monarchs Nov. 11 matchup with future Conference USA opponent Texas San Antonio in the final day of the Liberty Tax Classic, and the Lady Monarchs home tilt against California on Friday, Nov. 30.
The Monarchs contest at Murray State will be broadcast via the internet on espn3.com on Nov. 24.
All men’s and women’s games will be broadcast on radio on ESPN 94.1 FM, with Ted Alexander on play by play, with former Monarch star Billy Mann providing color on home games and longtime ODU public address announcer Jack Ankerson adding color on road games. Tony Mercurio will be calling the action for the Lady Monarch games, with former assistant coach Susan Montgomery on color commentary. The men’s games and coaches shows will also be carried by EZ 100.5 FM in Richmond.
All men’s and women’s home games are also video streamed live by Monarch Media and available for purchase at www.odusports.com. (televised games subject to blackout)
ESPN 94.1 FM will also be the home for the Bud Light Blaine Taylor coach’s shows and the Karen Barefoot Show, aired weekly, beginning Nov. 8. Coach Taylor’s show will air live from Buffalo Wild Wings on Monticello Avenue in Norfolk from 6-7 p.m. on most Tuesdays, while YNot Pizza on Monarch Way in the ODU Village will be the home for the Coach Barefoot shows on most Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. Check the link for all the show times, as days vary throughout the season due to the basketball game schedules.
