The Monarchs, down ten at halftime, and 14 (52-38) with 18:03 left in the game rallied and got to within one, 56-55 with 8:44 remaining as McCullum hit four straight free throws. Steve Myers made a layup and two free throws by Jeron Roberts helped Global pull away down the stretch.

Global had four players in double figures led by Steve Meyer (Texas San Antonio) and H.L. Coleman (Wyoming) with 11 points each. Coleman also hauled in nine rebounds and Rodney Odom (UNC Charlotte) added ten boards.

The Monarchs shot .393 from the floor and .529 (18-34) from the line. Old Dominion's defensive pressure forced GLobal into 25 turnovers, while the youthful Monarchs committed 16, only five in the second half.

The Monarchs return to action in a week when they host Court Authority in their final exhibition game.
